Electrical Panel Upgrades in Brockville & Eastern Ontario

Is Your Electrical Panel Keeping Up With Your Home?

Most homeowners don't think about their electrical panel until something goes wrong. But your panel is the backbone of your home's entire electrical system — and an outdated or undersized one can quietly create safety risks, limit what your home can handle, and cause headaches you don't see coming.

If your home still has a fuse box, was built before the 1990s, or you've noticed flickering lights, frequently tripping breakers, or a lack of outlets, your panel may be overdue for an upgrade.

What is an Electrical Panel Upgrade?

Your electrical panel — sometimes called a breaker box or fuse box — controls how electricity is distributed throughout your home. An upgrade typically means replacing an outdated or undersized panel with a modern, higher-capacity one that meets today's electrical demands and Ontario's ESA safety standards.

Common scenarios that require a panel upgrade include:

Fuse Box Replacement

Older homes with fuse boxes are not equipped to handle modern electrical loads. Fuses blow frequently, replacements become a recurring frustration, and insurance companies increasingly flag them as a liability. Replacing a fuse box with a modern breaker panel is one of the most impactful upgrades an older home can have.

100A to 200A Service Upgrade

A 100-amp panel was standard for decades, but today's homes — with EV chargers, air conditioning, home offices, and modern appliances — often demand more. Upgrading to a 200-amp service gives your home the capacity it needs now and room to grow.

Preparing for a Renovation or Addition

Adding a kitchen, finishing a basement, or building an addition almost always requires electrical upgrades. A panel upgrade is often the first step before any new circuits can be added safely.

What Does The Process Look Like?

We keep the process straightforward from start to finish:

Step 1 — Electrical Inspection

We start with a licensed on-site inspection to assess your current panel, identify any issues, and confirm exactly what your home needs. There are no surprises — you'll know what's involved before any work begins.

Step 2 — Permit, ESA & Hydro One Coordination

All panel upgrade work in Ontario requires an ESA permit, and depending on your service upgrade, Hydro One coordination is also required to disconnect and reconnect your meter. We handle both entirely on your behalf — filing permits, scheduling ESA inspections, and coordinating directly with Hydro One so that everything lines up properly before work begins. This is one of the most overlooked parts of a panel upgrade, and getting it wrong causes delays. We manage it so you don't have to.

Step 3 — Professional Installation

Our licensed electricians complete the upgrade efficiently, with minimal disruption to your home. We handle everything from disconnecting the old panel to final cleanup.

Step 4 — ESA Inspection & Sign-Off

Once the work is complete, an ESA inspector signs off on the installation. You receive full documentation confirming your home's electrical system meets current Ontario safety standards.
